My lila sweater is blocking, only needs some ribbing on the neck and then weaving in ends. I cannot wait for it to dry so I can finish and wear it! Meanwhile, I’ve been itching to knit a shawl for some time. The Campside shawl by Alicia Plummer has been in my queue for quite some time and it’s a free pattern that seems simple and produces a nice large cozy shawl, perfect for spring evenings. So I’m gauge swatching for that, knitting with Madelinetosh DK in color way Harvest.
Also, I’m still reading Long Days of Small Things but also checked out Braving It from the library and have a hard time putting either book down. I highly recommend BOTH! Not much time for reading this week, but I squeeze in a few pages before bed.

I need to look into the “small things” book you’re enjoying so much. It seems like it might fit well with some of the ways the Lord is speaking to my heart lately!
I have thought weirdly often of your snow cave adventure lately- I think it has reminded my how valuable it is for our children to learn important “grown-up” type of skills at even a pretty young age so they are prepared if ever they encounter emergencies. So thanks for sharing that, it has lit a fire under me to really be intentional about teaching them all kinds of knowledge that paves the way for the future …no snow caves yet (haha!) but other basic day-to-day things for now!
so true, sarah! my sister actually had seen a documentary on snow survival just before we got lost, and that’s how she knew what to do. it’s amazing how God works to prepare our kids even in ways we don’t anticipate or plan!
